This project began through the CodeLab client cohort driven by the idea that sports fans want to share opinions without the complexity or stakes of traditional prediction platforms. Our goal was to design a lightweight, community-driven experience that enables quick, anonymous voting on real-world sports matchups while clearly showing how the crowd leans.

Over a 10-week sprint, I helped translate the client’s concept into a research-backed MVP aligned with real fan behaviors and decision-making patterns. The design also prioritized frictionless Reddit moderator usage, enabling easy setup, low maintenance, and seamless integration into existing community workflows.

Lessons Along the Way

  • Strong communication shaped this project. Staying in constant sync with developers ensured a shared vision from start to finish.

  • Designing with both users and moderators in mind helped create interactions that felt lightweight and intuitive for everyone.

  • The biggest takeaway: let research lead. Letting go of assumptions and leaning into research unlocked better, more adaptable design decisions.
